The calendar says it’s spring now but winter is still trying to hang on here in rural New York where we live. We’ve spent most of today indoors (of course) watching the March Madness games, which is something that Claudine and I do annually at this time of year. We both have always loved watching college basketball together much more than watching the NBA (which, to be honest, we no longer turn on because it has gotten so ridiculous and uninteresting). We have fond memories of our first year together in our rented apartment, sitting on our used, hand-me-down love seat and squinting at our used, hand-me-down television after adjusting the “rabbit ears” antenna in an attempt to get the fuzzy, shadowy images clear enough to watch. Many years later, after we had bought and moved into my grandparents’ house (known now as the “Old House On The Corner”) and we had finally gotten fast enough internet service (we still didn’t subscribe to any TV service), we used to sit together on the couch watching games on my laptop. Times have changed and we now have television service over a fiber optics connection (much faster internet) but our interests in March remain the same. It’s always fun to fill out brackets every year and enjoy a fun challenge between each other for bragging rights. LOL!
